When I first started looking into foreclosure investing, I had the opintion that people who did this style of investing were spoiled fatcats who preyed upon poor homeowner, who for whatever reason couldn't pay the mortgage on their home. Paying on time isn't always easy, with the economy down it's hard to raise many so some people have trouble making payments. And then what happens? The "investor" swoops in, buying the home for literally pennies and then flips the house and makes a huge staggering profit.
There are people out there who buy and sell foreclosures unethically and without remorse. They do their business without integrity, morality, nor compassion to the people and loved ones involved. Many families though, have been helped by the good people who do foreclosure investing properly and ethically. They know that these are troubled times and do what they can to help the troubled home owners in any way they can. Usually it's not the homeowners faults. Most of the time it's not something they could have controled. People lose their jobs or cannot work due to injury. People also become sick or there is a tragedy in the family.. To make things even worse, families then get harassed and hounded by debt collectors who always threatened eviction from the families home.
. Successful ethical investors however, seek solutions which are win-win for everyone. Many people and organizations actually devote day and night to helping troubled homeowners just because it feels good.
Will you pick the Golden Axe or the Silver Axe? Will you be good or evil? Which side will you pick: light or dark? Wouldn't you rather be a fair foreclosure investor who plans to really work with troubled homeowners with plenty of choices for them and with a fair offer for thier home all while still making an good profit?
Speaking from personal experience, nothing feels better than having someone come to you willing to solve your problems without having me loose any money. There is no such thing are a stress free foreclosure. It's like having the weight of the world lifted from your shoulders when someone comes to you offering to fix this horrible situation you are in and allowing you to put it all being you with ease
While foreclosure investing you are sure to come by families and homeowners who would rather eat their arm off than work with you. That's understandable. Sometimes you won't be able to make it in time because some less ethical investors got there first. Don't worry. Personally, I like to wake up in the morning look in the mirror and like what I see. Treat distressed homeowners fairly and with compassion and you will find more opportunities opening up to you than you know what to do with.
